Web 2.0 in short defined as a new Internet version or application that involve 2 ways interaction & participation between visitors and websites and related to social media.
According to Oreilly, it is Design Patterns and Business Models for the Next Generation of Software.
1. The Web As Platform - Web 2.0 as a set of principles and practices that tie together a veritable solar system of sites that demonstrate some or all of those principles, at a varying distance from that core.
2. Harnessing Collective Intelligence - Hyperlinking, Directory of links, link structure of the web such as PageRank from Google, eBay collective activities, user participation such as Amazon, online encyclopedia such as Wikipedia, folksonomy sites such as del.icio.us and Flickr, Collaborative spam filtering products like Cloudmark, viral marketing, infrastructure of the web and most popular interaction platform like blogging.
3. Data is the Next Intel Inside - Database management, search engines web crawl like Google and Yahoo, online shopping like Amazon & Ebay, MapQuest and other related databases.
4. End of the Software Release Cycle - Expertise daily operations, Users co-developers.
5. Lightweight Programming Models - A complex web services stack designed to create highly reliable programming environments for distributed applications such as Google Adsense.
6. Software Above the Level of a Single Device - Web application and the development of the web as platform such as iTunes, TiVo and Podcasting.
7. Rich User Experiences - Using an architecture of participation to build a commanding advantage not just in the software interface, but in the richness of the shared data.
