Technorati’s State of the Blogosphere 2008 report which has been released in five consecutive daily segments. Since 2004, the Technorati annual study has unearthed and analyzed the trends and themes of blogging, but for the 2008 study, Technorati resolved to go beyond the numbers of the Technorati Index to deliver even deeper insights into the blogging mind. For the first time, they surveyed bloggers directly about the role of blogging in their lives, the tools, time, and resources used to produce their blogs, and how blogging has impacted them personally, professionally, and financially. The technorati bloggers were generous with their thoughts and insights.

Segment 1 - Who Are the Bloggers?

This segment about the bloggers are not a homogenous group described in difference gender, educated and global phenomenon.

Segment 2 - The What And Why of Blogging
Most bloggers write about multiple topics, and both personal and professional topics are equally popular.

Segment 3 - The How of Blogging
Bloggers invest significant time in creating and updating their blogs, as well as driving traffic and retaining their audiences.

Segment 4 - Blogging For Profit 
Blogs are an increasingly attractive platform for advertisers.

Segment 5 - Brands Enter The Blogosphere
Brands make up a major part of bloggers’ online conversations.
