SEO Tips - Spider Indexing And Ranking

Search Engine Optimization is basically improving the ranking and visibility of your website. When a person searches for a desired website in the internet, he or she wants to find the most relevant site that answers his or her queries. This is where Search Engine Optimization comes to the picture.
Search engines are the major source of traffic online with almost 2/3 coming from Google. If you want an improved search engine placement then you will have to understand how they find and present the relevant information to your prospective customers.
1.Indexed from Spiders
Search engines use robots (spiders or crawlers) to index websites across the internet. Whenever you submit your new sites, the spider will go to your site and search through all the pages and perform indexing . Spiders will read your site content, meta tags and even follow the links you have on your pages. Then the spider will return back with all the information it needs and deposit them where your data is being indexed. The spider will also help to index those pages which you have links connected to. But some spiders will only index a limited amount of pages so do not create a site with hundreds of pages.
The spider will return regularly back to your site to check if there is any updates or changes. But the frequency of these returns is determined by the search engines moderators.
Therefore to put it simply, a spider is actually like a book with all the information such as table of contents, actual content and the references and links to other sites. Some spiders are able to index up to one million pages a day such as Google, AltaVista, Yahoo, Lycos.
2.Ranking
Whenever someone types in keyword into the search engine, the search engine actually finds the information that is closest to what the searcher is typing in their internal index. It is not actually searching the Web. If your website has the keyword such as “blogger tips” in the search engine index when the searcher types in that keyword then your website will be listed on the first page of the results. However, you will get different rankings for different search engines as they use different search algorithm to search their indices.
The frequency and location of your keywords on your web page. Most people keep their keyword density around 3% - 7% . More than that will be considered as keyword stuffing. The top location is also the best for search engines. The search engines will also analyze how each links are formed and what are the pages all about. If the links to pages are related, you will see improved search engine rankings.
Learning how the search engine works to help your website get higher rankings. Placing on top of the search results means that your website has contents that are relevant to the searcher thus the search engine places you on the first page of the search results. Search Engine Optimization can be your best tool to stand out among your competitors if you study well on Search Engine Optimization.
