To save your time let look at 12 SEO TIPS that helping you to optimize your blog.

1.Name your keyword in categories

• Keep it short and simple (Kiss)
• Keyword Research - Emphasize your keywords and perform top search terms using keyword research tools.
• Organize - Using category hierarchies and maximizing navigation for the readers.
• Optimize and declutter the categories.

2.Name your images

• Write short description text in Title and ALT text
• Helping keywords population into your post.
• Helping promotion in Google image traffic.
• If multiple images, then use “-01, -02, -03, etc end of the description.

3.Name keywords in title and sub-title

• Use short and strongest keywords in front of title
• Highlight and bold the sub-title - easier scanning by readers

4.Name your tag

• Use general tag and specific tag

• Participate in social networking and forum
• Participate in other blogs and leave meaningful comments.

6.Create meaningful pages

• Use pages to summarize and link to important post and sites.
• Pages including archives, resources, links, about page, forum etc.
• If the pages useful to readers, it will be listed in search engines together with your main URL.

7.Write rich content

• Content is the King.
• Write useful tips as educational post for readers
• Create a timeless and knowledge base content to attract readerships.
• Rich content will attract search engine to index your post and rank in search engine.
• Part of search engines optimization (SEO)

8.Install Wordpress “All in one SEO plugin”

• Useful plugin to let you define various attribute related to SEO such as title page, meta keywords and meta description
• Easier locate the main keyword in title and meta description. Although search engine gives less priority to meta description but never ignore them.

9.Customize noindex or nofollow option

• Use for the category or archives
• Search engine may penalize you if it finds the duplicated content in your site (same content in different place in your site).
• Refer more detail of robots.txt

10.Install Wordpress Plugin for Google XML sitemap

• Creates the site maps for the various search engine such as Google, Yahoo and MSN.
• Easy to configure the frequency for spider to visit your site based on the weighted value setup.
• Search engine look for your sitemap when visit your website.
• The format must look like this: http://www.domain.com/sitemap.xml

11.Customize Permalinks structure

• Go to “Options” –> “Permalinks” and customize permalinks structure
• You should choose customs structure include the post name instead of default value.
• The name of post should read like this:

http://thebloggertips.com/seo-tips-blog-optimization

and not

http://thebloggertips.com/p?=123

12.Customize Post Slug

• Post slug is the test to be display in the URL when permalinks structure uses the post name.
• You able to find the post slug in the right hand side of Wordpress while writing the post.
• Remember always include the keyword in the Post Slug.
