SEO - How to Get Others Link to Your Site

Google defines a link pertaining to the rankings and SEO as a “vote” from one site to another site. The more quality votes or link your site, the greater chance you have rankings well. If a well established site links to your sites, that means the link carries more weight than less reputable page.

If your site has rich content and unique, you’re already ahead of much of the competition. Webmasters need a reason to link to your site, as very few will do it out of the goodness of their heart. Other than that, trading links can work, but link exchange networks have decreased in value and won’t be of much use in competitive fields. However, buying links is a big “rejection” from Google. The followings are a few popular methods of acquiring incoming links:

  1. Issue press releases with a link back to your site.
  2. Be active on related blogs by commenting and exchanging ideas.
  3. If you have clients with web sites, ask whether they would mind adding your link in a “partners” page.
  4. Participate in relevant forums and discussion boards with a link in your signature.
  5. Write and submit original articles to article directories in your niche with a link in your bio.
  6. Actively involved in social media and bookmarking
